Hello all,
I have one query on my tds receivable. My client deducted TDS on advance money he sent to me for the rental income. And that TDS was come and sit in my form 26AS. I would like to know whether i can take the credit in this year or else the same can be taken as credit in the year in which income accounted in the books for the respective advance received.
Kindly clarify. 🤔

Is the same scenario applicable to construction company?
I want to rise this scenario since construction company receives advances in lump sum and they do not account income for the years then what the construction company will do with the TDS?

If u have received any advance for which services was not yet rendered, but the tds was deducted by the customer and is reflecting in your 26AS, then u have the option of carry forwarding the TDS to the next year and u can claim the TDS in the year in which u are actually booking the income in the P&L.
